The Diploma Programme is offered full-time to school leavers with qualifications in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)/ Malaysian Certificate of Education (MCE). The main purpose of this programme is to enable them to acquire the skills and knowledge that will contribute towards their career development in related fields. The curriculum developed by academics from the University of Malaya as well as industry practitioners stresses on the balance of theoretical and practical aspects to ensure that the graduates fulfil the needs of the job market and are able to compete in the workplace of today.

On successfully completing the diploma programme, you are eligible to apply for degree courses in related fields at the University of Malaya or any other public or private universities, subject to the terms and conditions set by the university.

University of Malaya Certification

Through this programme, students will have the opportunity to obtain certification from the University of Malaya, one of the premier universities in Malaysia. The Diploma is a symbol of achievement and excellence awarded for an individual's successful and commitment in meeting the challenges of completing his/her studies at the university.


Quality Assurance

UMCCed emphasises every aspect related to the structure and content of the programmes offered to ensure that these are in line with the latest technological developments and to meet the requirements of the job market. The main criteria in measuring the quality of the programme are as follows:

  • Qualified and Experienced Lecturers
    All the instructors / lecturers have recognised academic qualifications in related fields. In addition to academics from the university, this programme also draws upon the expertise of experienced professionals in related fields. This is to optimise the learning process and to ensure that students can integrate theories and concepts with actual practices in the industry.
  • Interactive Learning
    The learning and teaching methods comprise lectures, discussions, group presentations, exercises, videos and case studies. All these methods are enhanced through the use of various teaching aids.
  • Examination Procedures
    To maintain the credibility of UMCCed certification, all examinations are conducted under strict university standards and regulations.
  • Learning Support Facilities
    • Library
      Students will have access to the University of Malaya main library which holds more than one million volumes, including a collection of journals, periodicals and a variety of microfilms.
    • Programme Administration
      The programme is supervised by a programme coordinator who is responsible for managing, monitoring and ensuring the smooth running of the entire programme. Students may refer to the programme coordinator regarding issues related to their programme, including advice and consultation.
    • Sports and Recreation
      To ensure that students stay healthy and fit, they have access to sports and leisure facilities provided by the university.

Application Procedures

Application must be made either through Online Aapplication@UMCCed or the prescribed form, which may be obtained form UMCCed office or can be downloaded here. 

  

All enclosed academic records and other supporting documents must be certified true copies.

A complete application should consist of the following items:

  • Certified copies of SPM slip / certificate
  • Copy of Identification Card
  • Passport size photograph


Additional Requirements :

  • Processing fees of RM25.00 (postal order/money order) payable to UMCCed.(Non-refundable)
